About Mindset and Mood

Mindset and Mood provides quality psychotherapy services for adults. It aims to help clients overcome their mental health challenges and live their best lives. It is based on evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. It also includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness approaches.

Mindset and Mood supports people on a challenging yet rewarding journey. To overcome depression and high anxiety, even in the presence of difficult situations.  This is achieved by creating a safe, non-judgmental space where mindsets can be explored and unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours identified; thereafter, coping strategies and practical techniques are provided to create change. This will enhance self-awareness and personal growth, foster flexibility and resilience, and lead to emotional well-being. Consequently, living a more fulfilling life.

The founder, Maryam Joanna Keshavarzi-Pour is a BABCP accredited, High Intensity Psychotherapist.

 

The British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) accreditation ensures:

  • Specified standards of knowledge and skills

  • Regular supervised practice

  • Commitment to working within a robust ethical framework

Maryam works from Kent, UK; dividing her time across the NHS Talking Therapy service, the private sector and her private practice.

An online service allows us to reach many clients and offers more flexibility, making it easier to access support. We believe in putting people first, acting with integrity, and being supportive and positive.

Adapted Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is used to support the mental health needs of neurodivergent clients, with the understanding that each person is individual with their own strengths and areas of difficulty.

 

Adapted CBT provides tailored strategies and techniques that accommodate unique cognitive and sensory processing styles. Developing social communication skills, emotional and mental well being.

 

Suitability Criteria:

Services are NOT suitable if you are presenting with:

* A higher risk for suicide and/or self-harm (recent attempts, within the past three months without a period of stabilisation).

* A confirmed primary diagnosis of personality disorders

* Psychotic disorder e.g. Schizophrenia

* Alcohol or other substance dependency - However, if currently undergoing treatment with a specialist service (AA, CA), support can be offered by working in conjunction with that service.
